Skate Story Audio

 


Skate Story is an indie game created by one guy, Sam Eng. This game came out on the 8 of December 2025 and the music was created by a band called Blood Cultures. Blood Cultures genre is psychedelic pop, like Tame Impala. This type of music matches with the game perfectly because you play as a glass demon that skateboards and your goal is to eat 8 moons and face the devil. The audio of this game is also great as every noise that a skateboard would make is replicated in game when your character does a trick or power slides. There is also music that is not on the sound track that plays more in open areas. The sound in the game is moody and psychedelic because it like that. All the sounds fit and none are jarring to hear. One positive trait of the audio is that the music is fantastic and fits with every section. Whether it is an open part or linear or a boss fight, the music fits. When thee music made be Blood Cultures starts, it is amazing to listen. On negative trait I have is the music in the open areas is very bland. I would like to hear all the produced music in any area, but they are more connected to story beats.

White Knuckle Demo

  White Knuckle is a rogue-lite climbing game with elements of horror and puzzles. I played the demo,  but the game come out this year and developed by the indie studio Dark Machine Games. The game is only on PC. This games art style is inspired from retro pixel art like DOOM. The goal of the game is to get as high as you can within the campaign. That means there is a specific height to reach to, but I was not good enough to complete the campaign in the time that I played. Each run is short and different making the replay ability of the game very good.  The main mechanic of the game is grabbing and climbing. Your hands have stamina, so you cannot hold onto one place for very long. Each floor you reach have a different route for you to climb make you have to think fast to find the right route because you do have threat following you.   Fortnite is a free to play battle royale that is available on every platform. This game also has many other game modes like racing, a guitar hero clone and creative mode. This game is a perfect for a game being powered by Unreal Engine. While Fortnite is not the most graphically intense game out there, it is the most recent popular game made by Epic Games, which also created Unreal Engine. The graphical use of Unreal Engine is shown in the shadows and textures that are shown throughout the game and its day night cycle. The power of the engine is also showcased in the creative mode as many of the stylized maps are higher quality versus the giant map that the main game takes place in.
