Video Game Engines

Fortnite is a free to play battle royale that is available on every platform. This game also has many other game modes like racing, a guitar hero clone and creative mode. This game is a perfect for a game being powered by Unreal Engine. While Fortnite is not the most graphically intense game out there, it is the most recent popular game made by Epic Games, which also created Unreal Engine. The graphical use of Unreal Engine is shown in the shadows and textures that are shown throughout the game and its day night cycle. The power of the engine is also showcased in the creative mode as many of the stylized maps are higher quality versus the giant map that the main game takes place in.

Among Us is also a free to play game on mobile and on paid on PC. This is a game of social deduction. The innocent people need to find out who is killing the others before the ship is destroyed or everyone is killed. This game is a perfect example for unity because the game is 2d. Unity can do 3d, but is typically know for 2d. Another sign is that the game has the art style of a cartoon. The graphics are not the selling point of the game. Unity is not like Unreal where it is meant for a lot of graphics. These are signs of the game being made with Unity

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is a game where you play as a space marine from the universe of Warhammer 40K killing Tyranids and Chaos forces of the planet of Kadaku. There is a campaign mode, multiplayer mode and co-op mode. This game is made with the swarm engine which is developed by Saber Russia. What is unique about this game is the fact that the swarm engine is needed for what was achieved. The game has you fight hordes of enemy's, so much so that a specialized engine was needed. This is the same engine behind World War Z, another horde shooter. The swarm engine also allows for the game to have great visuals along side the hordes of enemy's.
