Skate.

Skate. is an new game that came out on the 16th of September of this year. It is free-to-play game made by Full Circle and Electronic Arts. While this game is about skating, it is in the sports genre. This game is available on all platforms, but you do need a controller to play the game, even for PC. This game has been a long waited sequel to the game Skate 3, make this the 4th game in this series. Like the previous games, this one continues and upgrades the flick-it system. This is the system that allows you to actually do tricks. You flick the right stick in order to do tricks and depending on the movement of the stick, it does a different trick.

Skate 4(skate.) is game about skating in the city that is designed for skaters called San Vansterdam. That is it. There is not really a story in the game, unlike its predecessors. It is mainly a glorified skating sandbox. While the previous games didn't really have a storyline either, they had more of a story. In skate 3, the goal/story was to grow and become a mainstream skater, as well as sell 1 million boards by completing missions with or without famous skaters. This new game does not have that. The art style of this game is very cartoonish and not gritty. If this is a city that is for skaters and is used for skating, there should be more scuff marks all around the city and on the skaters. It does not have the more gritty and punk art style like the old games.

Pro. The pro of the game is the flick-it system feels great. It is super satisfying to hit trick in a row and land a new trick that you learned. With it almost being like a sandbox, it is feeling fun to explore and find new areas to skate and mess around in. The game is also in early access, so the glitches are there. this makes the fun to find a glitch and try to replicate it for either speed or a launch in the sky.
Con. the cons of the game is that this very bare bones. Many of the game modes and activities from the previous games are not present. Many of those modes were beloved by the fans. The other bad part is that it has a shop full of microtransactions. This was expected for it being free to play. While you can accrue some currency to buy free packs, those packs don't have much for customization compared to the microtransactions. It feels like the game was built around the shop itself instead of the game coming first.
